Finished Filming Blog
After my group finished the filming scene of the group chat conversation we moved on to the next film. The scene after the text messages was where we all were supposed to meet up at the main character's house. I wanted this so we could all discuss the doll and how it went missing. Since I was the one who made the script I added this in as a way to get some dialogue and introduction to all the characters. While reviewing the script my groupmates decided to skip the introduction as they thought it could be unnecessary or repetitive. The reasoning behind the decision was that if the friends know each other why would they need an introduction. Because of this change and because of the fact that we were already running out of time we were discussing canceling the rest of the filming. We would still film on another day just pushed back. I convinced my group that we should try it today and just adapt to the script and that is what we ended up doing. We started by finding a spot that "Looked the most like a house" as we were still in an office. The place we thought would best fit a house setting was the kitchen area of an office. After the location was decided we started getting the lines that each character would say. It took a bit of rehearsal to get everyone to memorize their lines but we eventually got it with help. We had many failed attempts as our group would be laughing or forgetting their lines and so we kept redoing it until we got one we all liked. Finally, we got a scene that we all were fine with and with no mistakes. We then wrapped everything up and decided we were finished. We still had more scenes that we wanted to film but we decided we don't need to all do it together. The last few scenes were actually the very first scenes of the story. The scenes involved Jeni's character playing with the doll and its disappearance. Jeni said she could just do the scenes at her house alone and so we all agreed on that. A problem we ran into was the time and fitting everything into it. Ironically, we had TOO much footage instead of a lack of footage so we had to cut things down. Depending on the time we may have to skip some scenes entirely.
