This is the final project!!

Film Changes

Following the review changes based on the review were made. I had told my groupmates the changes we should make. All the changes I requested were directly from the review. One change that I got told I should fix was the music. I told my group mates about this and they said they liked the music. They also told me the people they asked also enjoy the music. I told them we should find a way to have both. Because of this my group had to make a compromise. We wanted to keep the music but also tone it down for some people that may have not liked it. What we did was lower the music volume a bit. We also changed where the music was. This was so it’s less annoying to people. Because of this, the people that wanted to hear the music can still listen to it. Also, the people that don’t want to hear the music can either just skip that part or turn it down some more. Another change was the acting looking a bit weird. Because of this, we had to edit some parts out. We couldn’t really film more scenes

FIlm Review

Finally, we finished filming and editing. After all of this was done I needed someone to review the final project. I chose my sister and asked her if she could review my project. She said yeah she’d look over it and tell me anything I could adjust. The reason I chose my sister to review was that she has had prior experience with filming before. She once took media studies and directed her films and published her own blogs. Because of this, I thought she would be the perfect person to critique my film and review it. After she got done reviewing she told me about anything I could fix and change before I finalize my project. While she was telling me what could be improved I was thinking about how I’d change it. First, she told me one thing I could change was the music. I was told that the music didn’t really fit too well with the theme. She told me it was more horror suited for scares instead of a mystery. Another thing that could’ve been improved was the dialogue. The dialogue was sloppy

Second Editing Blog

Once again my group had to edit the footage we produced after filming. We wanted to edit quickly after the filming was over, The app that we used for editing was iMovie. I had previously used iMovie for past projects. One benefit that iMovie has is that it is free on all platforms. Because of this, it is accessible to everyone to use and edit. Also because it can be downloaded on a phone it makes editing a lot more convenient and easier. My group needed to edit the music for the final project. To do this my group had to add the downloaded music from YouTube and go on iMovie. We also used iMovie to change and modify the scenes we had already filmed. Another thing that needed to be edited was the title. We needed the title in the actual film to be shown with our font design. Editing was also used to determine and discard which scene we didn’t want to keep. A scene would be discarded if it was a bad take or if the group didn’t like it. A scene would be considered a bad take if one of the

For editing, other members of my group did it as they were experienced with editing. One thing that needed to be edited was the time. The time restraint was by far the biggest part of editing. We had to get the footage and make it fit 2 minutes. To achieve this, we unfortunately had to cut some scenes out. Because of the time restraint, we couldn't go over it. This meant we couldn't have too much footage. This also meant we had to have enough footage for the two-minute time. The problem me and my group faced was actually that we had too much filming. Because of this we had to use editing to cut down on some footage. I had some ideas on some extra scenes to add but we couldn’t add them because of the time limit. So what my group decided on was that we would just go with the normal plan. I agreed with this and we just had to scrap the idea that I proposed. What I wanted was some more scenes with the doll to introduce it but instead we ended up having to edit all that out and del

Music Blog

The music in films is often one of the most important elements to include. Due to the film, my group is making we wanted to include a song that fits well with the theme. With the theme being Mystery, I want music that would make the listener curious and want more of the story. For the music choice, I chose a song by Kevin Macleod. The song was found on a playlist on Youtube. A major reason that this song was picked was that it was royalty-free. Since the music was publicly available on Youtube all I needed to do was download it. Not having to email companies for music made our film music a lot more convenient. One thing that I like about the music is the constant suspense it creates. I feel like the music has an unnatural sound to it which goes well with the unnatural theme of my film. One problem my group and I had was deciding where the music would fit in. I felt the music should be placed during the title card or something similar to that. I didn't want to have the music during

Finished Filming Blog

After my group finished the filming scene of the group chat conversation we moved on to the next film. The scene after the text messages was where we all were supposed to meet up at the main character's house. I wanted this so we could all discuss the doll and how it went missing. Since I was the one who made the script I added this in as a way to get some dialogue and introduction to all the characters. While reviewing the script my groupmates decided to skip the introduction as they thought it could be unnecessary or repetitive. The reasoning behind the decision was that if the friends know each other why would they need an introduction. Because of this change and because of the fact that we were already running out of time we were discussing canceling the rest of the filming. We would still film on another day just pushed back. I convinced my group that we should try it today and just adapt to the script and that is what we ended up doing. We started by finding a spot that &quo

My group finally began the filming process for our short film. For the location, my group all went to Naiara's apartment as we thought we would have a lot of space there. I arrived first and then waited for the rest of my groupmates to arrive. Since it was everyone's first time on location we had a bit of confusion with the directions but everyone eventually arrived. We had to push the time of filming back as there were also transportation troubles. When everyone arrived Naiara showed us around the location and we decided on the best place to begin filming. Also, Jeni was the one to bring the props so we can use them for our filming. She brought two dolls that we could pick from and decide which would be the best fit. For deciding the dolls we wanted the doll that was the creepiest and would fit thematically. My group eventually found an office space we could use and it was empty with space that could be used to film. Once we all arrived at the office area we began discussing
